Evil Genius
On page 23?
“Danger and sex and passion and violence and tragic endings were all knotted up inside of me by then, long before I knew what any of those words really meant.” Page 23.
Easy to guess how this will go.
Evil Genius
It’s “literary fiction,” and the afterwards contains clues as to serious sources, but the novel itself was gripping with its — to me — unique voice.
Perhaps there’s something about a sweaty underbelly present in old San Francisco, echoes of naughty noire.
I’m not even sure what it is, but beautifully wrought, with gritty realism in a form I haven’t seen recently.
Wonderfully wrought; highly readable.
