Horoscopes for 5-26-2026

“Men at some time are masters of their fates;
The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars,
But in ourselves, that we are underlings.”

Gemini

Gemini The first term? “Future-proof.” I’ve got, buried on my site, some legacy code. Material that’s been around since I first posted horoscopes on the web. I’ve worked with software and web-based architecture for decades, trying to make sure that there is seamless delivery. At first, there was also the desire to make sure this material was visible across the largest number of screen types. Anymore the automated versions sort out the phone and tablets from the big monitors. However, this introduces “feature-creep,” defined as adding more stuff, and much of it is not needed except in highly specific situations. The trick, as long as the planets are where they are, and with the week-ending motion of Mercury in Cancer, maybe we should make this “Feature-proof,” to protect against feature-creep, and overly difficult material. “Future-proof” by “feature-proof?” That works for Gemini. “I don’t need more features, I need it to just work.”

Cancer

There are twin elements at play. Part of this is the Cancer desire to simplify, and part of this is the Moon Child’s desire to explain extenuating circumstances. Yes, there are excuses, but in the bigger picture, excuses are nothing more than empty words that explain why something was either not accomplished or gone terribly awry. Either way, excuses are just that, an attempt to shift blame to someone besides our sign of the crab selves. “But it’s really not my fault!” I know that. You know that. No one else understands, and wasting time explaining your positions is just that: a waste of time. Falls on deaf ears. Never mind you’re right.

As I suggested, there are twin elements at play. The less effort expended making up excuses? That allows for more effort to help simplify then amplify the situation. Instead of making this a more complicated answer? Think of the simplest, easiest way to get an answer out. Might take some analysis, but a simpler answer is better.

The Leo

I got sidetracked with baseball, and I discovered a remarkable similarity between sport writing and horoscopes. Therefore, as I figured out that the old pitcher was probably Leo Sun Sign, I thought about one of his quotes — for The Leo. “You can be a topic or an impact” (Jesse Chavez, pitcher). I liked that, as he was always well-regarded in the clubhouse, and adored as a team player. Sort of quiet leader, and that quote, that explains both how and why. As an attitude, that moved The Leo ahead. Thinking upon his observation, “You can be a topic or an impact,” that shows us what to do. Instead of talking about it, with all that Gemini influence present? Instead of talking about it? Make an impact. Take action, step up the situation and take a swing at it. “You can be a topic or an impact.”

Virgo

I tend to favor not concentrating on small details that seem insignificant in my Sagittarius overview. Bur that’s me, and I’m not Virgo. Love them, respect them, lusted after a Virgo or two, maybe more, but no, I don’t concentrate on the insignificant details. Kind of a point, and especially now, the littlest of details, ever get hung up worrying about some tiny part that needed to be fixed? Instead of looking at the bigger issues, the over-arching problems? Get stopped trying to fix a tiny piece that isn’t even mission-critical? At least one Virgo will claim this isn’t an issue, but for that one, there will be three or more who realize that this needs to be addressed, right now, and as such, illustrates the point. “No, you’re wrong about that.” But am I? Besides, with the planets, notably Sun, Uranus, and mostly Mercury in Gemini? The tendency is to get hung up on the little details that don’t matter — at this time. Move on. We can come back and fix it later. “But it works better for me if we fix this now.” Does it?

Libra

There always has to be a “fall back” position. A Libra post that we can retreat to, or secondary stance that serves as a way to shore up what’s gone before. Sun in Gemini (and Uranus plus mostly Mercury) lends this notion, plus it is punctuated by the full moon. The fall back position, as an example, it’s a secondary, supporting role to the primary position. Let’s say the muse does not move me, what’s a secondary position, for me? I’m not Libra, so this might not apply, but as a circular reference, it might help, right? The simplest “fall back” I’ve got? I drink coffee in the morning. Sometimes for taste, sometimes for fuel, mostly out of habit, and ritual. But if I want to sleep at night, and I do, I’ve found that switching to ice tea and even green tea in the afternoons helps. Less caffeine. Not devoid of the sustenance, but less. It’s a “fall back” position. As such? Perfect for this week’s Libra.

Scorpio

There is a “singleness of purpose” often demonstrated by lovely Scorpio. Get that Scorpio mind made up on one point, and it’s off. “Singleness of purpose” is the weekly Scorpio challenge, and what to watch for? Getting stuck in a Scorpio rut, just chasing down one target, stuck in a repetitive pattern, just pursuing a single goal, with no effort to look at anything else. “It has to be this one.” Sure it does, but that doesn’t mean that it has to be right now, does it? Or that this is the only way to achieve your desired results? The rut, the very Scorpio rut, that one way of seeing this as a problem that can only be solved one way? That’s the issue. Yes, Mars is in Taurus, opposite from Scorpio, but the other planets, in Gemini, suggest there is more than one way to achieve the desired results. There is more than one way to achieve your Scorpio desired results.

Sagittarius

Sagittarius There was a book I read, first time was for school, the novel’s setting was the desert southwest, a place I’m rather familiar with. School, work, travels, and travails, all set against the desert southwest. So the setting for the novel was not all that different, almost home turf. Reading the novel a second then third time, though, brought that home. The familiarity. But with each subsequent rereading, I took away very different messages. The first time was the tale of adventure. The second time was the nuance of the language, and the most recent? There was another layer woven into the thread of the plot that I picked out. Didn’t see it before. Part of it was language-based, part of it was the evocative scenery, and part of it was the way the characters interacted with that landscape. This is about looking back so we can look forward, the full moon along our Gemini/Sagittarius axis triggers memories. Doesn’t hurt to break some of those down, just a bit. “I never saw it like that.”

Capricorn

The simplest of ritual helps. Concurrent with several belief systems, I’ve found that a list of events, items, and people that are in my life? I’ve found a short list of what I am grateful for, that helps. It bounces off several different systems, and the source isn’t really that important. As a Capricorn with Capricorn planet placements? There’s a heightened need, maybe a desire, to turn your attention outward as coerced by the Full Moon. Then, that attention, that points out the little things, the small events, the tiniest of minor miracles, that’s what we’re grateful for. There’s this salsa, the other day, at this one place, the green “jalapeño” salsa was rich, hot, and there was a slight citrus-like tang, almost covered up by the burn. This is not a big deal, but the locally-grown tomatillos and peppers? Just made this so much better. Look: this isn’t a big deal, but as a place to start, I was grateful for that. Simple, and something that is right under your nose. Start that list of gratitudes right there. Here.

Aquarius

There’s light and there’s dark. There’s good then there’s bad. There’s hopefully and then there’s utter despair. The old saw is about the Yin and the Yang, and the co-opted symbol is the black and white squiggles, existing equally, in a circle. It’s a common enough image from various Buddhist sources, and reflect the inherent duality of Nature. Day and Night? Not always an Aquarius strength, embrace both side of the question, and grapple both answers to your heart. The Moon makes this all gentler, and it’s not a time to sticking to just one position. “I see how you can feel like that,” or “I get why you think that way.” Any other, similar answers are good. Not a time to sticking to one path but consider several. “Day is good; Night is good, too.” Or? “I see why you’re saying that.”

Pisces

While this did occur frequently, I didn’t do it again, and the usual results? Anyway, I tend to try and curb whatever it is I drag around to work — and travel — the crap I want to carry? I try and pare away at that. A minimalist wallet, a pocketknife, and a phone. Keyes, yeah, need them, too, but that’s about it. However, I keep an emergency “go-bag” handy, one is strictly for work, and one is for whatever exigent circumstance pops up. Pens, pencils, notebooks, paper, chargers, cables, batteries, and a book to read. What’s often left behind, and what is most important? A real book. No batteries, requires ambient lighting, and for me? A spare pair of reading glasses. I have two similar-looking bags, ready to roll, one equipped for work, and one for “emergencies.” I forgot to check the supplies, and after switching out baggage, I had a few items that got left out. My loss, and my shortages? I can save you the partial Pisces pain by reminding you to check that bag before you hustle off to the next destination. “How could you forget tarot cards?”

Aries

There was a an advertising formula I used to see. It was about Life Hacks, or some similar kind of attention grabbing headline. Click-bait, really. They usually read something like this:

“#5 is a game changer!” Or?
“9 ways to fix this! #7 will shock you!”

Catchy enough phrase, and I succumbed to the usual obsessive desire to see what 5 or 7 was? After the third or fourth time, though, I caught onto the trick, and the number didn’t matter, whatever was the bait? It was never answered. Selling advertising is like that. I’ll admit I fell for it, a time or two, and I’ll admit, each time, I was disappointed in the advertising itself, the prospect, and then the delivery that never happened. No pay off. There are a couple of books I’ve read lately, and at the end of my notes? If I put in, “didn’t see that coming,” about the ending? That means it was shocker, or a surprise, or a carefully crafted deception that I didn’t see coming. Or it was a shock. But the promise of a quick fix? Not for Aries, not this week. Don’t fall for the link-bait.

Taurus

Usually, around the check-out at the lawn and garden stores? There’s a selection of solar-powered lights on sticks. Prices vary from a single dollar on up to expensive. The one I’m thinking about, it was deeply discounted, sort of a globe and a pink flamingo as one unit, little solar panel, and then, all mounted on a secure-looking steel rod. Planted it a year or more back? Vines and then cayenne snaked their way up, but the light never seemed to work. I adjusted it the other afternoon, puttering in the garden. Flipping it over, I found a switch on the bottom the solar unit, and I poked at that a few times. Situated the glow-in-the-dark solar panel in position where it would catch the most sun? Because it’s a pink flamingo? I also positioned a plastic skeleton on top, riding the bird. A few nights later, I noticed that the globe was shining brightly after sunset. As a reminder? A single, glow-in-the-dark garden light? Simple example, just push the button. Adjust as needed, but you’ll be pleasantly surprised with the outcome, if you’re willing to try.
