Radio, Airwaves &c.

The old motorcycle shop got a mention or two on the radio, back in the day. Details are fuzzy, as are other promotions that were associated with my early careers.

Jumping ahead, though the first time I was on the radio in Austin? 102 (something-something), me and my mentor, both of us dressed in black leather jackets and little fez hats. Part joke, part serious, and wanted to make an impression on the morning jocks. The old 102, downtown, in a building, near where the new/old Threadgill’s sat, next to the fabled Armadillo. 1992 or so.

The callback on that? The old alt-radio, when it was in the same building first with that Scorpio, then others, Sag and Leo. The Leo. Met Bubba (Gemini). He has stories about Gibby and heroin, real rock star stuff.

One of the years, I was associated with Austin radio, especially before Y2K, I was a dial-in talent that marginally kept the listeners interested.

Oldies radio, at one time, images on the web, had a Pisces buddy who was on the streaming country thing, would watch her as she voice tracked remotes. Alt-radio, then mainstream drive time in Alaska, and more, much more. Too much to count. Heartland radio, dial-in.

89.2, 89.7, 92.1, 92.3, 92.7, 93.3, 93.7, 98.2, 102.2, 102.7, 102.9, 105.5, 107.1, 107.9? Can’t recall call letters. it is a jumbled mess of memory.

Mostly in and around Austin, with a faint West Texas feint, and some others. But mostly Austin.
