Lost Luggage

Nothing surprises me, not anymore. There are modern inconveniences, but I’m well-aware of many of the problems. And solutions. I’ve been commuting around on SouthWest Airlines for the whole of this career’s span. It’s easier. Usually cheaper, too. Not always the least expensive, American Airlines was cheaper by five or ten bucks, but I had to connect through DFW (Dallas-Ft. Worth Airport). While it’s a miracle of aeronautical engineering, the DFW airport is also a nightmare for tight connections, dependent on weather conditions. SWA is straight shot, either from Austin or San Antonio.

Coming in to Dallas Love (SWA home), from Phoenix, I would hop off one plane, and rush to the next, and it was possible to beat the system, at the time, by just hopping on the next plane out of town. I’d arrive and then SWA would send my baggage out later.

Lost Luggage

The last time SWA lost my luggage? More than a decade ago, possibly longer back than that. I was staying at the hotel in El Paso, and I was hurrying in to work on a Saturday morning. In my shoulder bag, at the time, I carried everything I needed. I sat down, opened up the laptop, and got to work, and SWA brought the missing suitcase over in a few hours.

Staying in Santa Fe, NM for a few days, SWA lost my suitcase. Been more than a decade, and it was sort of funny. Well, sort of funny to me. I carried a single phone/tablet charger, a book I was reading, and a toothbrush. Turns out, I wasn’t as prepared as I used to be. However, with alacrity and reasonable promptness, SWA FedEx’ed the no-longer-missing suitcase. It arrived about 12 hours after I did.

Lost Luggage

No harm.
