The other afternoon, I forwarded a meme that was, looked like Jesus, about to smite someone for helping themselves to his ribs, and the text was something to that effect, “I’ll smite thee, so help me God, who I am, if you touch my ribs.”

Pretty Old Testament, really.

The text implied, of course, tender morsels of smoked meat goodness. One of my friends from the other side of Oklahoma asked, “Is this a Texas thing? I don’t get it.”

So, Thursday afternoon, enjoying some of the best local smoked meats, I took a quick shot, posted it online someplace, just four ribs, about to be consumed.

Ice tea, pork ribs, smoked meaty goodness. Proof that the good lord loves us and wants us to be happy.

Two Brothers BBQ, out in the yard, under the Live Oaks, Robert Earl Keen warbling in the background about how it feels so good to be feeling good again.

Then a live version of Charlie Robinson’s New Year’s Day — yes, I do believe this is a Texas thang.

“Feels so good feelin’ good again.”

Ya’ll just don’t get it, huh.
