Load In
The image is from a defunct Austin legend, Steamboat. I recall it back in the day, down the street — the original 6th Street before it was whatever it is now, and that was then.
Steamboat moved to a location next to a Sonic Drive-In and a few state offices. I walked past the back door numerous times, and I finally caught an image of it. Surfaced when I was shuffling through older material, made me think about it all. The image for “Load In,” originally, there was some smaller print about decorum amongst musicians, and this drawn from an era when there wasn’t much decorum amongst Austin musicians.

The good, old days. Or, realistically? The bad old days, but that Austin was alive with creative impulses, and it had that which would feed — nurture — the artists.
