Single Best iPad Accessory
It is the single, simplest piece of hardware I’ve purchased in the last half-dozen years, an inordinately non-complex, now inexpensive, cover for an original Apple wireless keyboard.

Think I’ve just about lost track of all the iPads. I purchased the cover shortly after getting my first iPad. Snapped an extra (now older) keyboard into the case, paired the keyboard to the iPad, and it was a hit.
The concept that makes this work so well is that it is “Device agnostic,” which means, it would work on any wireless tablet or phone, any kind of device that the keyboard can be linked to, which, in turn made this outlast three or four iPads.
When I’m reading a book, for example, or gathering information on websites, or checking news feeds, the little tablets work best — for me — with no keyboard. However, as Mercury was retrograde, I was hastily called in for some remote work, and the quickest grab, for me, was that keyboard and iPad (iPad Pro). Slap a couple of fresh double-A batteries into the keyboard, an old Apple Wireless keyboard, and it was good to go.
For a year or more, that keyboard and case languished in the bottom of my coastal crate, a milk-crate-like storage unit I used for coast trips. Drop in fishing shirts, shorts, and coffee beans into the crate, and I was good to go. Much easier than a suitcase or pack of any kind.
What caught my attention this last time, after Hurricane Harvey, no immediate coast trips — at all — but also, the way the case itself was worn. It was starting to show age.
