Tough Fishing
It sure seemed like the best end to Mercury Retrograde, excellent idea, a quick, Texas Sunrise fishing trip.
In the pre-dawn, rosy-fingered glow, as the Sun was still below the horizon, it was the thinnest shard of a Moon (Libra), Venus, Mars, and Jupiter. Quick shot of the sky against the clouds. Some place south of San Antonio.
Brief showers, bands of much-needed rain, and we launched, most near on time. My buddy remembered, and brought fruit cups as a possible repast. Too cool.
One, solid, good fish. That was all. Late in the afternoon, I reeled in another Red, but I was sure he as under the limit, stretching to 19 inches. But that first one? Fat, strong, tough, and a decent 27 (and a half) inches. Will be good eating.
An amazing day on the water – tough fishing and all.
Pepper bin, at the Aransas Pass grocery store. An homage to an earlier allusion.
