It was a three column layout, with the two sidebars a fixed width, narrow, but still, as I scrolled down the page, each sidebar showed a picture of book, and link to purchase the e-text, really just an Adobe PDF file, of selected writers’ markets.
The Z-axis: in an earnings chart. Have to remember that.
I was looking for grants. One writer I know, more like know-of (by reputation and association), his weblog mentioned some funding was provided by a grant. So I started looking. The first place was clearly a commercial concern, as was the second link, but by the time I got to the second page of material, it was a little more clear. So far, I’ve turned up nothing that I can remotely use. But I’ll keep digging, as time permits. Then again, maybe I should just shell out for the “writer’s guide to getting grant moneys.” As advertised. I’ll have to wonder though, if that isn’t just material that’s been repackaged from other sources. And I’ll have to wonder, too, if I dig deep enough, I can figure out where, and how, to apply for grant money. Be nice to have life of leisure, a chance to pursue lofty artistic goals for a change

Fish Oil:
With a nod to the first Bass-O-Matic, a doctor recommended “fish oil” as a vitamin supplement. I think I read, on the side of the bottle of pills, that “fish oil” was made from the oil of several kinds of small fish. Like “Bass-o-matic.” Huh.
Doctor recommended?
Misleading images: from the economist, no less, and careful perusal will show a few glaring problems. Maybe, let’s start with size. Total is for all of the US, and compared with what, France? Texas, not even the largest state in the US, Texas is bigger than France. And Texas is the largest un-frozen state, but never mind that now, I’m not playing fast and loose with facts. The comparison isn’t valid. Nice image, brings home a point, but it’s not as factual as it could be. And when the medium will lie about a few facts, it brings the whole publication into question. I’m not saying anything, I’m just saying…
