Best Marketing Message

Yeah, yeah, I’m an Apple FanBoy. I don’t have an iPad. Can’t justify expense to utility cost factor, not yet. What I liked best was the message about the selling value. Brand versus product.

In some terms, I have an insane business retention factor. The horoscopes, the subscriptions? Over 90%. In terms of customer loyalty, that’s just off the media-metrics mark. Most places struggle with a fraction of that.

The challenge, what I can’t figure out, what works. I just write my scopes and let them free. There’s no dedicated customer service tree, personnel trained to handle cranky phone calls, none of that. No “new media marketing” experts.

How it’s done:
Nuts and bolts, in a digital way? Simple.

Preferred and recommended Domain Name Register: Register4Less.

Once you have that, you’re going to want a web host, again the best deal so far: astrofish.net/reseller –> fatcow.com.

Content is King!

That’s true, as Google loves typed text. Compound that with my general love of writing itself, and most of my material is written, not visual, so that makes it natural selection. Good start. To run that website, after much trial and error, I’ve found three pieces of the puzzle that fit together well, WordPress, Thesis (premium theme).

Some hosting offers a painless and virtually seamless WordPress integration. From there, upload Thesis and whatever else.

Out-of-the-box, Thesis offered something that I liked: with the full-paid developer’s license, I can legally (as well as morally and ethically) remove the advertising for the theme. I’m not promoting a product that I might, or might not, endorse, cf., disclosures.

Most WordPress themes have a built-in footer that links to something. I can get in with a text editor and change the code, but that’s a moral mistake. Legally, it’s a gray area. Moral compass points true; it’s wrong.

I’m an affiliate on all of these products and businesses. I’m an affiliate, means I can earn a commission, because I use the products and I’ve been pleased so far.

There’s a number of smaller elements that play into this, podcast, video, SEO, SERP, and the membership model. Still, for starters, Register4Less, Fatcow.com, WordPress, and Thesis Theme.

Digital nuts and bolts.

It’s obvious: You’re insightful, you’re funny, you’re smart. And you fish. What more could I ask for?
