Kalaloch part 2
As a part of the world that is totally foreign to me, the Pacific NorthWest does intrigue me.

Shakespeare for 100:
What plays gave birth to movies?
My favorite of the bunch was My Own Private Idaho, for various reasons.
I first saw it, early 90’s, with a buddy. Both of us were heartsick from various girl-fiends, and as a fledgeling astrologer, I couldn’t fathom the mysteries of the female heart. Still can’t but I have a clue, these days.
My buddy and me, we wandered into an “art” movie place on night, midnight show? My buddy knew the stars on the screen, or knew of them, or they were in the tabloids he read.
We joked, as we went in, “I’m straight, but you know, confident enough, I can sit next to you and not worry about it.” He joked right along with it.
So we sat next to each other.
I get excited, part way through the movie realizing that it’s Prince Hal, and I recite some of the lines under my breath. Sure, there’s a lot of homosexual activity, but that’s just window dressing on the tale, to me. (Note: not window dressing on the tail. Get your minds out of the gutter. Please.)
Movie’s over, lights come up in the theater and there are a number of same-sex couples, almost exclusively, male-male. Always fun to watch the straight boys panic.
So he pulls himself up to his full height, flexes a bicep, “Yeah, need to go change the oil on your truck, now, don’t we?”
All that gets now is a roll of the eyes, “Whatever.”
Dude.
