Latin and Books
No idea why I felt so compelled to pick up Wheelock’s Latin, not like I need any more reference books. Not like I have hours of unregulated time that I can spend in spurious pursuits, like negotiating Latin grammar (again).
But a newer printing of a relatively old book, about even older books, that was appealing, and I’ve been referencing that books for the last decade or so.
I have a couple of Latin quotes I employ as signature files, minders and in one case, the site’s tag line, so these are not without daily usage. I’m still urged, inward driven thing, to find Marcus Aurelius in Latin, and translate some of those favorite verses.
Probably not going to happen, but at least I have a hefty reference tome, less than five buck, for a slightly new-ish, remaindered version. The question being, do I ever really use it?
