Mattress Matters

Mattress Matters

When I was shopping for a new mattress, tried a few local places, with mixed results. The titles to the two or three local storefronts all had “Mattress” in their names.

Prices were in the well-over $2K category. One place, the guy was clearly trained in old-school car-sales techniques, “If I could do it for $2400, how about that.”

There was that frankly unctuous feeling, cheap cologne, stale cigarette smoke covered by a breath mint, just didn’t work. Last mattress I bought cost near $900 for a queen, and the mattress was supposed to last ten years. Inlcuded delivery, set-up, and hauling off the tear-stained wreck no longer capabale of “Beauty Rest.”

Mattress Company.

11 months later? That Internet-only mattress is still the best I’ve got, so far.
