Meant to Be

Meant to Be

I would guess my tale begins in old El Paso, although, frankly, I’m unsure. Let’s just start it in El Paso, and my old buddy who does a lot Feng Shui stuff. Did. House blessing, arrangement, &c. Part of the mythology is that we change out our wallets, or purses, but wallet is the best guess, every year for the Chinese New Year.
One year, I found a translucent wallet, made from some kind used marine material, and I kept a single $100 bill so I could see it. Then, in moment of inspiration, the Pac Rim mythos was to have a little red envelope with note, wishes, something inscribed, but what I did?
In that window, I had a trimmed post-it note with the simple message, more to myself than anything else:

If it is meant to be, then it is up to me.

Serves me well, and as a reminder, see it anytime I pull out my wallet? Pay for coffee or supper or something? There is that reminder.

  • If it is meant to be? It is up to me.

All about not passing the buck.
