Upcoming: Mercury vs. Water and Air

Upcoming: Mercury vs. Water and Air

Mercury starts its retrograde pattern around 10 or 11 degrees of Scorpio, most certainly a water sign associated with the red-hot heat of Mars and sometimes, the distant-cold fire of Pluto. But this particular Mercury in Retrograde doesn’t slide to halt until it gets back to about 26 degrees of Libra, all airy and balanced. Or out of balance, with this particular pattern.

In my best Libra tone?
“All depends.”

This brings certain heightened degree of focus on the first decan of Scorpio; that first 10 degrees of a fixed sign, and that focus spreads out across the rest of the zodiac, impacting everybody with material that is in that first 10 degree slice of a fixed sign. (1) The fixed signs, as a review, Taurus, The Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius. Earth-Fire-Water-Air. Previously, I covered some of this material, with some generalizations that are specific to these times.

There’s a sense that this one is slightly different, and what it amounts to, symbolically? This is the final pass for this series. Not bad, not good, “For there is nothing good or bad but thinking makes it so” (Hamlet).

The next series concentrates on the Air elements, more so than this collusion between Air and Water. Part this years message, though? It’s about being honest with one’s own desires. That’s the Scorpio and sex thing. Always seems like it resonates, though. On a deeper level, it is more about drive, determination, and destiny.

“A (good) Scorpio loves to hear that.”

But it is what this is about.

Been around enough Virgo types, and while not solely the realm of the mercurial signs (Virgo and Gemini), it is the most common place. The expression?

“Paralysis by analysis.”

Stuck trying to sort out infinite details, and arrange situations to perfection, which in our current world, nothing will work out perfectly? Even falling over into the Gemini worlds, as well, since — both signs are mercurial in nature.

There is an echo, too, something we’ve all seen before, and this reverberates back and forth, the worst, the best, the past, the future, but mostly, our recent past. First six months of 2020? First few months saw the most recent incursion of Saturn into Aquarius, the first glimpse of what it will be like when Saturn is in a fixed sign, and how that impacts the first few degrees of “fixed.”

This Mercury Retrograde period, along with Mars, but to make sure this is all perfectly clear? First few degrees of fixed, however that shows up individually? That’s what this is about. Back into Air elements? How do we analyze and use this data to our collective advantages?

Something to think about, look at March-April-May, 2020, then start plotting forward.

“Please be kind and rewind.”

(1) For example, natal charts from 1955ish to 1960ish will all have Neptune in the first ten degrees (ish) of Scorpio. While this can be intelelctually empowering on a spiritual level, it can also be confusing on practical application, as the correct route is probably obfuscated, at best.
