Looking Ahead: 2023

Looking ahead: 2023, a year of transition.

Went through this many times, and I’ll repeat it, one more time. Except for a very select few — you know who you are — the new year doesn’t really get started until the Sun moves into the Tropical Zodiac Sign of Aquarius.

Here’s how this works: Mercury is currently retrograde (in apparent retrograde motion) in Capricorn, having started this retrograde pattern 12/29/22 and staying firmly retrograde in Capricorn until 1/17/23.

Mercury slips back over a lot of ground, and covers most of Capricorn, slowly halting at 8° Cap. I wrote about this — years ago.

But Mercury and Capricorn are only a portion of the equation.

There is Mars.

Mars entered Gemini in August of ’22, usually staying in a sign about 60 days (2 months), and yet, Mars doesn’t exit Gemini until March of ’23. More like 7 months rather than 7 weeks. Tough call. Mars gets to one of end Gemini, retrogrades back to the beginning, then moved forward again to fry this mess with Mars excess, one last time.

Mercury is a Gemini Planet. Mercury Retrograde in Cap is symbolic of final deals to deal with, and Mars is making sure we all try every escape before facing the music.

Moving forward, the first couple of weeks of ’23 are about review, revise, and most important? Reassess.

There was a meme that circulates every year, and I’ll like it again, this year.

“New Year, new me? Before making any wishes or goals, let’s just move into the new year with our eyes down, don’t make eye contact, don’t touch anything, make no commitments, no sudden movements, and don’t rush to hasty judgement. No empty promises. Let’s see where this goes, first.”

Like “trust issues?”

I’ll add to that? The new year starts on the Lunar New Year, January 22, 2023. Let’s just pause until then.

Revise, review, reassess.
