Signal to Noise

There was something gnawing at the back of my mind when I picked up a copy of Signal to Noise, and after reading some of it, I looked, there it was, Gods of Jade and Shadow.

“Magical Realism” is a branch of realism where an undercurrent of magic, perhaps fantasy, Carrie’s some of the plot. My favorite examples tend to be the literature of the SouthWest, with Rudolfo Anaya’s lighthearted yet spirited Sonny Baca series as my favorites.

So this is an earlier novel. The path to the novel is my usual bizarre choices, from a deals list, Barnes and Noble had a free copy, but I had to access it through their proprietary Nook reader. Feels like an updated 2010 Kindle.

“Oh, magic is more complex than that. You have to give as much as you take. There’s a price to everything.” Page 26.

There is that. A price to everything.
