Fever Beach

Fever Beach

I picked up a copy of this book the day it dropped, a Tuesday morning. Had my eyes out for it, in eager anticipation. The author himself has had a long, almost exhaustive, run of books. Series, action, adventure, YA-branded stuff, and there are movies, and now, a streaming series, hopefully more, based on his works.

Opening the digital copy of the novel, I looked at the dedication. Moved me.

I’ve always enjoyed it because the author takes no holds and freely sarcastically skewers, well, everything.

“A loosening of laws had made Florida second only to Texas in the push to make firearms more readily available to the impaired, incompetent, and unstable.” Page 350.

Always make me proud to see Texas ahead of other states.

I suppose, it’s a (Generation Jones) element as much as anything. Only makes sense. Plays fast and loose against a backdrop of palm tree, beaches, and the current political environments.

Fever Beach

Have to admit it’s funny, hilarious, to me.

More than two dozen years back, I was favorably compared to one of the characters. Took some digging to recall that connection.
