Now by this light, were I to get again,
Madam, I would not wish a better father.
Some sins do bear their privilege on earth,
And so doth yours: your fault was not your folly;

The Leo

The Leo To this day, I’ll admit, there are some of the nuances about Shakespeare’s works that I just don’t get. Subtle messages, delicate shading and simple shadings in the texts themselves, and some of it, how it is supposed to be played on stage, in performance, anyway. Recently I watched a dated movie version of Romeo and Juliette back-to-back with a latter version, and then, reflected on a live version, recently. Three totally different “interpretations” of a long soliloquy, early on in the play. One had timing that seemed distant, another seemed rushed, and third seems like it was overly dramatic, too many pauses, failing to follow Hamlet’s instruction to the actor. Each brought a different element, and opposing sentiments, with different conclusions drawn, from each performance. None of them were “wrong,” just different. Same words, differently displayed (performed). Which is what this about for The Majestic Leo — how those words are trotted out, recited, and how it is performed.

Virgo

It’s an interesting point, old friend of a friend surfaced. Started to recount tales of derring-do and adventures from more than three decades distant. Quoted a deceased friend about my activity. Funny, to me, as the facts were wrong, and the friends in question, they were not typically given to hyperbole and myth-making. However?

I have documentation, and some of this is real paperwork that precedes the more usual digital data storage. I could prove a point, and I could prove that I was correct, but one of the elders is gone, and part of it is his story and rather than besmirch his legacy? Let the past be in the past. I was not always this forward thinking, but I will pass this along to Gentle Virgo, if it serves no purpose? Let it alone.

Libra

With Mr. Mars currently in residence? That pushes the nominally gentle Libra closer to the edge, and closer to over the edge? While that’s not exactly what is happening, it’s what it feels like. To me, this looks like that line, that imagery line, that delineates where the edge might really be? That looks like it’s pretty far away from where Libra currently sits, but that Mars energy, Mr. Mars pushing and cajoling, whispering sweet nothings in the Libra’s ear? It makes it look closer. If you’re quiet, you can hear the gentle susurrations, the murmurs of Mars, “You’re too close to the edge,” otherwise? “Go ahead, jump, you can build parachute on the way down.” Look: I like that idea, done it a time or two, myself, but I’m not Libra. What I know and from the urgency of Mars, plus that trailing material in Aries, that suggests we don’t really have time to build a parachute, or even a hang-glider, on the way down. Then, too, Libra? Mars might suggest you’re really closer to the edge than you really are.

Scorpio

There’s a delicate interplay between planet patterns. Less about a single Scorpio objective, and more about a possible Scorpio direction. This is about an intangible goal, possibly not able to reach in a single week, or just a few days, anyway, and more about setting course in general direction that looks better than what we were going before. A direction that looks better than what good Scorpio was doing before. In some situations, I tend to see this more as a course correction rather than a whole, new direction. Instead of resetting all the Scorpio goals and changing up everything? Maybe just realigning the routes, the waypoints, the places we stop to rest along the way, and see if that helps. Less about a single, Scorpio, “I have to obtain this goal, like right now, or else,” kind of energy, and more of that, “I think I’ll look over here, instead of back there.” Don’t be like a silly Sagittarius, like me, and keep going over material that we’ve already covered. Don’t try to pick a definite destination, just a new direction. Or old direction, whatever suits the Scorpio situation.

Sagittarius

I am classically Sagittarius. Therefore, I tend to embody many of the traits associated with the symbols, symbolism, and familiar associations. I am not particularly good at observational learning. I tend to favor, like a typical Sagittarius, making the same mistake two or three times, before I figure out that it isn’t working. (More like five or six times, just to be sure I was wrong.) However, looking backwards, I see how I repeated a single mistake, under this exact planetary alignment, I made the same mistake just once. I observed one of my buddies screwing up in a grand style, and following suit, I did, too, but just the once. So I watched as someone else did it, then I repeated the mistake, once, before I figured out that wasn’t the most expedient use of my own resources. The near-identical situation came around a third time. For a good Sagittarius like myself? Did I repeat the same mistake a third time? Recall, I’ve observed once, then participated once, and the third time the question came up? I politely demurred, passing on getting my ass handed to me, having watched once, then participated once, and did I learn? Oddly enough, yes. What do we learn, and what do we look froward to, in the coming week?

Capricorn

Most of the decent Capricorn that I know, most of them want hard definitions. I write about flavors and shading, though, as that’s really the effect of the planets. It’s about delicate flavors and gentle shading of the formerly blank areas, not about definite, “etched in stone” rules, and rights. In person, I used to talk about the “gray areas” between the lines, the places where there are no harsh definitions. The lack of “exactness” annoyed some Capricorn. OK, the lack of precision annoys most of the good Capricorn that I know. Understand, though, it’s that very lack of definitions, that lack of precision, that annoying area of senses, flavors, and shadings? That’s where the answers are, for Capricorn. Hint: it’s not always this murky, but like fishing in muddy lake water, yeah, that’s what it is for now.

Aquarius

There are several texts that I use for near-constant reference. King James Bible, Shakespeare’s Complete Works, Marcus Aurelius Meditations, and others. One reason I keep a copy of each of those texts at hand? Rather than trying to recall the exact phrase, and instead of wasting my own precious memory, instead of cluttering my own mind with quote after quote, sometimes long passages? I keep an easy reference version, close at hand. Simpler. Easier. My biggest challenge, I’ll go looking for a particular passage from, say Hamlet, only to wind up with Shakespeare’s (questionable) King John. Like this week’s? But it also means I don’t have to carry around all that information in my own head. I know where I can get it, usually quickly and easily. What this means, for Aquarius? Instead of trying to remember the exact data set, the collections and data points that lead to sure success? Instead of trying to remember the exact quote, chapter and verse? Carry a reference, so you can look it up, but recall that you don’t have to remember the exact details yourself.

Pisces

Over the years, I had to become a “self-starter” because no one was doing what I wanted. I have an internal set of goals, targets, hopes, dreams, and aspirations. I answer those questions, and what happened? I had to forge my own pathway. I’m not saying that this week is about gentle Pisces setting off in a direction all of his or her own making, but look at it like that, if only for a minute or two. To some, this looks like you’re forging ahead into the wilderness, blazing a new trial, bolding going where no one has gone before. That’s not entirely true. The weeks ahead for gentle Pisces are about taking the cues, avoiding the miscues, and looking at a path that might appear to be untested. The term “self-starter” echos back and forth across this suggestion, and it’s less about something no one has ever done before, and more about finding a very Pisces path through the less left behind by others. What works. What doesn’t work.

Aries

I learned, online, in real life, early on about the difference between a real relationship, and a “virtual” relationship. This does not really “pre-date the internet,” but I was running around in “electronic communities” long before the terminology caught up with the mainstream. Before there were “digital communities,” and the digital nomadic tribes we have some days. What I learned? The feelings may, in fact, be real, but the perceptions are ever shifting. For that matter? I don’t trust anything without empirical evidence. The converse side of this kind of allusion, based on my experiences? About Aries? It’s that sales copy, which promises so much, and might be too good to be true. You’ve seen, and even your Aries suspicions are tripped. “Yeah, I mean, it sounds good, but I’l have to see it, first.” It’s less about demanding hard, incontrovertible proof, but more along the lines of seeing, feeling, and observing for yourself.

Taurus

It’s hard, and there’s an attempt to rush headlong into a situation, and try to effect a cure, when, in fact, there is no clear-cut pathway available. In an older term? Be extra-Taurus careful of the “Knee-Jerk” reaction. I tend to favor that first, intuitive “hit” that I get, and take it as a warning, but with the planets, where they are? Saturn/Neptune still looking in Aries (before Taurus) and Uranus in Gemini (after Taurus), the idea is that there’s a first reaction, and maybe, acting on that initial impulse doesn’t really work best. Take a moment. Let it pause a beat. Doesn’t have to be long, and I think of this as a countdown, like, when I “bounce” bait off the bottom. Let it hit a resting point, then reel it back in — just half a turn. Think about this week as if you’re just bouncing a bait of the bottom. It’s that half-turn of the fishing reel, that half-beat of portion of a second. Instead that instant reaction? Wait for it. Patience is a supposed Taurus virtue, innit?

Gemini

This is about filters. I tend to elevate decent Gemini as I’ve learned to listen, interpret, and then not take immediate action based upon what a valued Gemini has said to me. Spin this around. You’ve got a trusted Gemini confidante, and that other person is suggesting a course of action for your Gemini self that might be good. Wait a minute. Wait thirty seconds, to be more realistic, but in normal-people terms, “Wait a minute.” There comes time when figuring this out for yourself is far more valuable than listening to advice of elders, mentors, and other paid actors. I’ve learned to take what a Gemini says with huge degree of tolerance, maybe true, but certainly with degree of skepticism — before taking action. Weigh it out before you jump. Consider all the option before you say “yes.” Think it through, and take a minute, maybe just thirty seconds in real people time, but take that extra moment to analyze, consider, reconsider, think through then move forward.

Cancer

There’s always the missed communications, and then, the problems from the missed communications. Pretty much what this is about, the fall-out from the problems created under that passage, the transit of Mercury. The backwards transit of Mercury, what that means, and what implies, moving forward. This is clean-up. This is the time to attend what’s in your own, Moon-Child, Cancer backyard, like, think: like the Sign of the Crab? Think like that crab, and scurry around the real, or metaphorical, allegorical even, backyard, and clean up the mess. In some examples? This is merely straightening, righting, writing, and looking over what was messed up, then setting about to correct the egregious errors of the moment, in the moment. The little special, “Kramer trick” that seems to work? Fix what you can, fix what’s easy to fix, and clean up what you have access to, but don’t, despite the Virgo urge, don’t attempt something that is beyond your current purview. Fix, and clean, what you can. But if you lack the skills, hardware or software to address it? Wait. We’ll fix it later, right?
