Horoscopes for 10-6-2026

“How poor are they that have not patience!
What wound did ever heal but by degrees?
Thou know’st we work by wit, and not by witchcraft,
And wit depends on dilatory time.”

Iago in Shakespeare’s Othello (II.iii.267)

Horoscopes for 10-6-2026

Libra

Libra Buddy rings me, and I see it’s his number, so I answer. With no introduction or “how you doing,” he just asked if something was retrograde that made his life miserable at the moment, because, on his way to work he got a nail in his tire. What I think? Fate, the stars, the good lord above, none of that had anything to do with his tire and that nail. He was traversing a construction zone, and nails are a common hazard. So was it fate, the furies, the good lord above, the saints, the devil, demons or just a bit of bad luck? Libra birthdays should be fun, and enjoyable, but the relative position of Venus and her pattern conspire to leave a lasting impression, like a nail in a tire. Best idea? Go slow, or go another way. You can always go your own way.

Scorpio

Scorpio Got a missive from a favorite Scorpio. Seemed curt, tense, and a little on edge. Maybe kind of caustically satirical, with a Scorpio stinger pointed at me. I took it personal until I recalled the birthday, just after Halloween, and I thought, “Supposed to be funny, but comes across as mean.” Which is the quick way I can brush off that hurtful barb embedded in the Scorpio message. But that’s me.

This isn’t really about me. It’s about that message you send, that text, a phone call, some kind of communication. In the olden days? It would be a handwritten letter, but I think those are gone. Still, before you drop that letter in the mail, before you hit “send,” before you post that missive, look it over a second or third time to make sure it it really conveys what you Scorpio heart want to suggest. “Well, thought it sounded funny, at the time.”

Sagittarius

Mars (and Jupiter) in Leo play hard against the unholy union of Mercury and Retrograde Venus. It’s a bouncy, good/bad energy, and this can be less than fun for our Sagittarius selves. For example, I started the other morning with a long list of item, goals, I wanted — and needed — to accomplish. One, two, three, four, five, the list went on. The first is clearly impossible, given current conditions, the second requires resources I don’t have access to, the third is merely a dream, and this is how it goes, right on down that list. Mars, and Jupiter, in Leo play hard against the undesirable pairing of Retrograde Venus and Mercury. Instead of calling that a punch list, or a to-do list, or even a set of goals for this next few days? I think I’ll call it a wish list. I mean, conceivably, those goals? It could happen.

Capricorn

There was a a book, actually a series of books, adapted to TV. A good TV adaptation is wonderful, as it can go for six or eight episodes rather than trying to take a whole book and make a movie that runs less than two hours. I like the TV format, and I liked the settings, the questions, the problems, the whole series was good as books, but then? The actor who played the main role, in that TV series was just wrong. No, great actor, credible job for the series, hit the highs and lows, the deeply introspective moments, the inner monologue was all fine, but the book suggested someone who was little more “beefy.” Broader of shoulder, taller of stature, more muscular. Stout? Think that was it. A more rounded and muscled person is what the book suggested, and while the actor did a fine job, it wasn’t what I thought it should be; it wasn’t the picture painted by the author’s words. At least, that’s my understanding. Each series, the TV version and the books, they are strand-alone, stand-out as good works. Together? I got questions. As a Capricorn, how much artistic leeway is there in rendering this week’s data?

Aquarius

Aquarius The internet is a dangerous tool. I had a plant growing in my garden, a green, kind of leafy, maybe a bush, looked a little like cayenne peppers, and the flowers, little white blooms, seemed to resemble this cayenne plants I currently favor. Only, this plant didn’t produce peppers, or any fruit. Bore a few clusters of seed pods, and I wondered about that. Eventually, I got around to trying to identify what that plant was, and it was some sort of ornamental bush used as purely drought-resistant decorations, good, but the “berries” were poisonous. Since this was just backyard, amateur sleuthing and backyard, amateur gardening, I didn’t pay it much mind. A real horticulturalist properly identified my plant as a local ornamental bush that is drought-resistant, but not poisonous. That’s why I can’t trust everything that shows up in an app (identify your garden), or that I casually search for, online. Aquarius, who do you trust?

Pisces

Good books, sometimes classics, sometimes trashy serials, all sort of depends, but to me? Good books are books that I can reread, finding new material in the old story. The plot, the action, the creative use of metaphor, and the way the authors bends the word to shape the tales? Digging into an old book, I mean, I know what will happen, but the individual scenes, the devices, all of that entertains at a new level. That’s what this next few weeks, possibly the next month or two, is like for nominally gentle Pisces. Dig back into the old texts, look back at a comedy show you used to like, for me? Rereading an old series of books. There are a number of different ways this shows up, but the idea is old material, not new stuff. Look back and visit at least one old story, a family tale, you know how it ends, but the trip to get to the ending might be more enlightening than before.

Aries

One of the greater Aries challenges is recognizing an existing and emergent pattern. Looking at the astrological points this week, and how that plays off against the extant Aries planets, notably Saturn and Neptune? It’s about recognizing a pattern. Might be good; might be bad. Might be easy to fix; might not want to fix it. The lunar phase will serve to slow and hamper that headlong-rush, that Aries hurriedness so typical. Slow down, look around and recognize the patterns. “Kramer’s always talking in circles!” No, this is new way to see the old patterns, what lies underneath that Aries exterior, and now? Instead of making the same mistake, over, try to make a new mistake. That’s what I mean.

Taurus

Taurus When Mercury goes retrograde, opposite from your good, Taurus self? This presents a number of uncomfortable situations. Bad? Hardly! But does this cause some kind of discomforting issues? Sure. What you do? How to handle this? Sometimes, the greatest asset is doing nothing at all. Wait for it. No, seriously, wait for it. It will come to you. Wait…

Gemini

Looking over my notes to myself, I found a singular notation about a certain Shakespeare play, King Henry VI, part 3. Shorthand? 6 Henry 3. Lesser performed, a little hackneyed, probably from Shakespeare’s earlier works, usually included in the Complete Works because, well, it was the first kind of sequels and the dawn of the form. The notion was the third play in the series, Henry 6 part 3 should’ve been called King Richard the Third, part 1. The idea surfaced in two different locations, so I didn’t think they were really tied together, and the material itself is dated. Why I like academic pursuits like Shakespeare studies, never goes out-of-date, and there’s always something new, which, in this example, is merely recycled trivia bits. But the idea, for Gemini, look at some parts, two halves that together make a whole? Instead of trying to tie together Shakespeare’s Henry 6th Part 3 and Richard the Third? Think about calling it Richard the Third Part 1 and Richard the Third Part 2. Now, if I’m not clear, it’s about what you call it, the naming convention, for what’s in front of Gemini. Not what you call it, but how you name it.

Cancer

There’s an old Zen thing, something about “Sit with the anger long enough, and it becomes sadness.” I’m paraphrasing, for sure, and I might have it all wrong, but the idea popped up, looking at the voluble moon children, the sign of the crab? It’s about layers and layers of emotions, and what appears to be, feel like one emotion,, on the surface, peel that layer back, and there’s another emotion underneath. I’m not about to attempt surgery on your Cancer heart of hearts, but I am going back to that original zen, or zen-like idea of sitting with the feeling for longer than a moment. See what’s really lurking underneath that original flash or anger, or sadness, whatever it is? Wait. There’s another layer we need to peel off, and the only way to do that is to be patient and let the waters of your souls calm down a bit.

The Leo

The Leo Over the years, I’ve documented the various steps in my process for reading charts. I tend towards a “holistic approach,” in that I don’t follow a prescribed patten, but figure out the most important parts, and address them. Which element sticks out, what is most prominent, what might be the sticking point, and what obstacles need help with navigation? Where is current planetary pressure? All questions. In order to arrive at a Leo-specific answer? I start with the problem pieces, first. From where I sit, it looks like there are about three problem pieces to the Leo week ahead. List them in order of appearances, 1 (one), 2 (two), and 3 (three). That top one? Can’t do anything right now, so skip to the second. With that, you’re waiting on a reply, and since there is no reply just yet, go on to number 3 (three). That’s where we start. Then, when you’ve gone as far as you can, circle back to look at 1 & 2. There’s a process, and making a list, like a good Virgo, that helps.

Virgo

Eventually, one of “life’s lessons” learned? Anything committed to printed format, and I mean, anything written down? Anything that is tagged as a message, text, e-mail, rough draft in a word processor of some form, or even a hand-written journal? Any of that can be published. In the act of writing it down, could be as simple as a grocery list, but the very act of committing it to written form? It can be part of the historical record, and thereby? Published in public. Along these lines, one of the more interesting and recent discoveries from Ancient Rome? Graffiti. Street art, so to speak. This underlines and points back to anything written down can be published. It’s a warning and observation, passed along to Virgo, anything you write down might get published. Keep the prurient details — that you don’t want public — out of printed format.
