The FTC advises that “endorsers” as well as advertisers can be held liable for false or unsubstantiated claims or for failing to disclose material connections between the parties.
In the event the connections isn’t clear, I’d like you – gentle reader – to buy my books, even better if it’s through Amazon. I get a token royalty fee then a token sales fee.
Still sucks, though.
I think the Fine Print covers that well enough.
Half-Baked Goodness:
Xmas is a time of family and friends, and some baked goods. One girlfriend, she fancies herself quite the little Xmas baker. I’m good with that (cf., Cancer scope). I was assisting in the clean-up chores. Means I was licking the batter from the bowl and the mixer’s blades. This girlfriend is a keeper, she – for real – pulled the beaters out of the mixer before letting me lick them clean. (Hey, not all girlfriends are that nice. Some don’t turn the mixer off much less remove the beaters.)
“You’ve been really good lately. I’m not saying this is going to happen every time.”
Brought up childhood memories. Licking the bowl clean. It is a distant, fleeting sense, something physical, the slight tang of yeast, or maybe it’s dough, could be a hint of baking powder before it does whatever chemical magic ours in the over, the dusting of flour (refined, white flour).
I’d guess sugar, too, as these were sugar cookies that stirred the memory. The completed product was soft and chewy sugar cookies, I’m sure I ran that recipe at one point.
My memory of sugar cookies were rock-hard, very much like a Mexican pastry (cf., Pink Cake). At Xmas time, the cookies were finished with red and green sugar.
Writing sometimes has a point and sometimes, I’m not sure of the destination.
Oh yeah, the FTC worries about disclosures from people like me.
Was that so hard?
Not sure where you’re going with it, either, I figure probably just grazing, not really going anywhere. Enjoying the fresh air, the green grass, the trees and distant hills. Does there always have to be a destination?
