Jupiter in Sagittarius

Jupiter in Sagittarius

Jupiter enters the Tropical Zodiac sign of Sagittarius on November 8, 2018 and leaves Sag., to enter Capricorn on December 2, 2019. Jupiter is retrograde from April 11 to August 11, 2019.

What this means, for the signs?

Scorpio

Scorpio

Scorpion

What was Jupiter in Scorpio realty like? I tend to glance back to see what’s ahead. For Scorpio, this is about letting go. Letting go of past grievances. Letting go of past hurts. Letting go of passed friends. “May not be dead, but dead to me.” Then, in good Scorpio Style, let’s start to move forward. This next year, and the time with Jupiter in Sagittarius holds great promise, but to make the best of that? What are we, as a good Scorpio, what are we willing to let go of? Kind of a challenge to make do with just a little less. The more spartan the Scorpio existence? The happier the Scorpio. Defies logic, on the surface, but what Scorpio is ever superficial? Make do with a little less talk, and little more action.

In a conversation with a marketing maven, the other afternoon, we got around to the Long Tail discussion. What part of this material is “evergreen” or, the outdated term, “long tail?” To build our way forward, though, this is the kind of long-term, big-picture, over-all planning what we require. Pause long enough to figure out the big picture. The long-term, material that is “evergreen?” The term refers to material that is timeless. As an example, for more than a decade I had a snarky bit I wrote as a joke about a certain, now annual and international, event in Austin. Funny, a tad bitter, certainly sarcastic, that still gets traffic years later, long after I decamped South Austin trailer parks for sunnier, more southern climes. As Jupiter plods along, we can either have it easy for a little while, or we can keep an eye on the future. Key phrases in the next year as ideas bubble and toil to get out of our psyche? “Long-term,” and “big-picture.” Oddly enough, when I pulled together this very horoscope for Sagittarius, it caught the correct idea.

Capricorn

Capricorn

The Sea Goat

“Clean house, trust the gods, and serve others.” Overly simplistic mantra for Capricorn, but then, trying to simplify a number of complex interactions with planets? Hard to boil it down to a concise phrase that fits. However, I have long experience with both Capricorn, and Jupiter, so the idea, in a simple catch-all phrase for the year? “Clean house, trust the odd gods, and serve others.” At some point, that very term will irritate a certain portion of the population. Instead of me saying, “I’m sorry,” which I’m not, adjust the phrase as need be to fit your individual beliefs. Adjust the terms, from “clean house” to cleaning whatever needs cleaned up. “Trust the odd gods” can be changed to fit whatever your personal belief system might be. “Serve others” is also wide open for interpretation. The essence of the message, though, is about acting in a selfless Capricorn as the best way to benefit from the way Jupiter passes through Sagittarius

Aquarius

Aquarius

The Water Bearer

My three minutes of fame, so far, came when I was tapped for a national TV show as a guest. I can say I’ve been on the national stage, now. Came to mind when I was trying to wrap a short phrase around the Aquarius effect of Jupiter in Sagittarius. It’s the Three minutes of Aquarius fame window, coming up. Recording “reality” TV is anything but. As this next year unfolds, though, there’s a shot at real success depending on how your Aquarius self handles the accidental publicity.

Pisces

Pisces

The Fishes

Old axiom that serves well in these times? Always be learning. There is no end to the new ways we can express the old stories. Retelling tales is part of this, or reusing old material, but the idea is that myths, metaphors and even memes become part of the way we express what it is that we’re trying to get across. There’s always a new way to describe the old material. Part of this is recycling, and part of this is building on an existing framework, and part of this? Always be willing to be teachable. Always be learning new stuff.

Aries

Aries

The Ram

While Jupiter courses his way through Sagittarius? Think about taking one step outside of your intellectual Aries comforts zone. One step. Not a huge leap of faith, not a radical departure from what you believe in, but just test the ideas. Road test, experience, taste, whatever it is that seems to fit. There’s room for expansion, and the clue for the correct direction for that Aries intellect? Discomfort. Follow that, and se where it leads, just a single step outside of the zone, not taking a huge leap, well, not yet.

Taurus

Taurus

The Bull

The essence of this transit of Jupiter for Taurus is about making do with what’s on hand. One of my more successful batches of chili was a springtime version of clean out the icebox chili. Just whatever was leftover that wasn’t too moldy, and some frozen meats of unsure origins. Add enough hot pepper, let that stuff stew on the stovetop overnight? Yeah, good stuff. It’s called “Making do with what’s at hand,” and then, thanks to the benefits of Jupiter itself? Turns out to be quick, easy, nourishing, and refreshing.

Gemini

Gemini

The Twins

This is an era that ushers new relationships. This can be on a political, emotional, romantic, or just plain business area — kind of depends on the individual chart as to how that energy plays out, where it is best expressed. In typical Gemini fashion, forging ahead, like blindly staggering forward, that tends to be the most effective way to get headed towards the correct Gemini destination. Destinations. With its inherent plurality? Gemini should look at forging new bonds, new relationships, throughout the next year, with attention placed on several areas, all at the same time. Not to confuse the situation with the typical Gemini fractured and faceted attention span, no, but the more direct action taken to get and keep new relationships — ever moving forward? that’s the best way to get ahead, as long as Jupiter is in Sagittarius. Don’t stop.

Cancer

The Crab - the Moonchild

The Crab

Before we go any further, what kind of cost-cutting plans are in your immediate future? Fat that can be trimmed from the process? Extraneous material that can be tossed aside? Material that we no longer need, what is there that we can get rid of? Not wholesale slaughter, but a few, finite cuts helps. Or judicious equating, that sort of energy. The challenge that Jupiter heaps up for the next year? In his position, Jupiter wants a little extra “elbow grease” work, or “sweat equity” extracted from Cancer, the lovely Moon Children. This extra effort comes at a time when there is precious little extra time to devote to painstaking details. However, attention to those very details, in the next year, tiny, minor tweaks to the process, little steps forward, a penny saved here, after a few months of this? There will be real progress. Save a penny now, and that becomes a dollar before Jupiter hits Capricorn.

The Leo

The Leo

The Leo

Tis transit looks really special with all that Leo fire getting a lift from gentle Jupiter. There’s a push, a shove, a single item that can make the whole next year so much better for The Leo, if you try this one, simple action. Need a tag line. A catch-phrase, an advertising jingle, a simple slogan? Something like that. For years, I’ve used a simple Latin expression, started as a humorous aside, but grew into its own, as my slogan. Need one of your own. No, we don’t need this right away, but in the next few months, a single, catchy, alliterative, poetic, snappy phrase is what The Leo needs to help use this good Jupiter energy. Make the most of the next year, while Jupiter does good to you. In order to do that? What’s The Leo slogan? For additional ideas? Check out Capricorn.

Virgo

Virgo

The Virgin

Ever watch a Virgo cook? I have, as I have long history with Virgo femme fatales (hint: not really a good match). The typical Virgo cook gathers everything, and I mean, everything needed, gets it all out of the pantry, the cupboards, the ingredients, and cooking tools are scattered all over the kitchen’s work surfaces. Everything is covered. I know there’s a perfect order to this madness, but why everything has to be out? I don’t get it. That’s a typical Virgo exercise in cooking, my kitchen being the simplest example. Understand that the Sagittarius flavor of the Jupiter transit will push and pull that Virgo domestic need to empty everything out in order to get a fresh start. Might just be a cake, never can tell what’s cooking, but the idea, seriously, do you need to empty everything to get this going?

Libra

Libra

The Scales

There is a new dawning awareness, oftentimes associated with children. In some cases, this is direct result from one’s own offspring, or, in my own examples, this tends to be borrowed children, as I help a couple of fishing buddies with my avuncular presence. Fun for me. Hanging around kids is what seems most important, too, as there’s something to be learned from observation, and occasional interaction, with kids. There’s the adjunct, for me, as kids make great bait. Still, as Jupiter wiggles its way through Sagittarius, the pronounced effects will resonate in — and around — children. Shows up differently from individual to individual, but works out well. Watch for it. Might be the sign for the duration? “Caution: kids at play.”
