It was at least 28 years, might be longer. 1993, maybe earlier or later, sort of a shed water time frame for me. Easy to remember a cold-water bedsit in old East Austin, no longer there, but close to the lake.

I had family business, and I was hopping a Saturday afternoon flight to Dallas, but first, I woke up in a shady garage apartment in old South Austin, had breakfast tacos while Jimmie Dale Gilmore’s crooned about “Ever see Dallas from DC-9 at night” through her stereo.

Saturn is on 28-year cycle, but more realistically, it’s got an orbit that is technically 29 (and a half) years. Looking at geocentric natal charts, I tend to see the cycle play out as a 28-year influence, but there are oddities and perturbations, all depends. However, looking back, this would’ve been a similar kind of Saturn cycle.

Closer to 29 years ago, but who’s counting?

“After you date me, you can’t go out with any of my friends.”

If I had known that before? I mean, I thought it was terribly narrow-minded, but I respected the dictum.

Early this month?

“Look, I’m going to have some friends over and I want you to read them, there’s going to be about half-dozen (females).”

Back again.

This time is a high-flying group, similar, same Austin roots, and we’re all a lot older. Saturn’s spun around its cycle — a full cycle — one more time, brings a pause.
