April Eclipse “Ameliorations”

April Eclipse “Ameliorations”

“22. All things are what we judge them to be, and that rests with you. Put away, therefore, when you will, the judgement; and, as though you had doubled the headland, there is calm, ‘all smoothly strewn and a waveless bay’.”

Book XII, Marcus Aurelius Meditations

  1. “It’s all how you perceive it. You’re in control. You can dispense with misperceptions at will, like rounding the point. Serenity, total calm, safe anchorage.” (See also 12.21.2018)

April Eclipse “Ameliorations”

Some time back, a new age, metaphysical outlet was advertising about a way to ameliorate the effects of the eclipse action.

I’m a big one for not trying to change the ways of the universe, the — whatever one wants to call it — fates, furies, or just the odd gods of the galaxies.

But trying to change the existing energy is probably not the best way to work this. How about working within the energies, instead? What does it spell out?

First? Let’s look at the elements in play.

April Eclipse “Ameliorations”

Mars, the planet associated with Aries, is 13° Pisces with Saturn 14°, close enough to call them aligned.

Mars is drive, direction, and decisions. Saturn, to some, a wet blanket of responsibility and to some, “karma.” In Pisces? Layers on a thin film of spirit and spirituality.

Mercury, Retrograde in Aries, from April 2 to about April 25? We’re in the middle of it.

The eclipse itself, 19°-20° Aries with Chiron riding in on that, at 19° Aries.

But what does it mean? And more important, how can this be harnessed for both individual and collective good?

April Eclipse “Ameliorations”

Think of this as a Super-Duper (confusing) New Moon in Aries. Great for starting, and even better for starting material that needs to be started despite the quick-fix outlook not being present (Mars/Saturn). Then, too, it’s understanding the fickle nature of Mercury, Retrograde, in Aries, a Fire Sign.

This is an immense point of inception, but the real facts, the causes, and roots are hidden. Motivations may not be what we think they should be. It’s the starting point. It’s the beginning.

Years ago, I came across a quote from Winston Churchill.

“Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.”
(Speech at the Lord Mayor’s Day Luncheon London — November 10, 1942.)

Date on that one is important, in historical context — it was war.

This eclipse is about new beginnings. False starts, mistakes, wrong directions, but starting, new beginning, testing new material.

The eclipse kit? How about a sprig of Sage, a cone or stick of Nag Champa incense, an evil eye protector bead, a fragment of Palo Santos, maybe a crystal shard, a tiny sliver of citrine?

The fire is required to ignite the incense, the smoke from the Aries fire spreads the good intentions.

None of this will ameliorate the effect of the eclipse. It’s designed with the intention of enhancing the proper understanding. Move forward in the physical realm as Mars aligns with Saturn, and embracing a bit of Mercury and Lunar Phase emotional confusion that can spread through the end of the month, but not in a bad way.

“… not in a bad way.”

There will be confusion and misdirection, possibly misunderstanding. When the Sun and the Moon eclipse each other? The emotional content frequently overrules the rational. That’s not alway a “bad” thing. The confusion can allow new ideas to seep in, usually sideways, and that’s what this is about.
