Last week’s news.
Aquarius
Happy birthday, happy full moon, happy conjunctions. This is a week when it’s all about pairing. I can think of two examples, from my most recent cooking adventures, I tend to pair garlic (garlic powder) with a black pepper. Adds a certain zing to what I’m fixing. Not garlic salt, but garlic powder and black pepper. Just works well together, and it’s a simple “go-to” for beef, burgers, fish, and vegetables. Poultry, too. Another pairing that I’ve found that works quite well is Vanilla (Mexican Vanilla is a local favorite) and cinnamon. Oatmeal, like, for an example, or any porridge-like substance, a just a dash, a drop, really of the vanilla extract and then heap a little bit of cinnamon on for taste. Another example is simple sugar and either vanilla or that cinnamon. Again, these are the closest, easiest examples of proper pairings. There’s an Aquarius pair that needs to be answered. Can’t do it alone, request assistance. Ask for help, or, at least ask what pairs well with this.
Pisces
One little secret that tends to work? Ask for help. Seek outside assistance. In my case? It’s real simple, I call the guy. I got a guy. I know a guy who is an expert at that, and he can fix it. I’ve watched him work, takes him about three minutes, a single trip out to his truck, a few hand tools and it’s done. If it were me, and if I was Pisces?
It would take three days, maybe longer. I’d have to make three or four trips to the hardware store, then a lumberyard, then a specialty tool shop, and it would cost me hours, days, even, not to mentation the expense of the equipment itself. Or? Pisces? Just call the guy. Can’t do this alone. Well, you can, but it’s a lot harder.
Aries
Been through this before, and we’re back again. It’s about doing this solo, dear Aries, solo. Alone. Sailing into the unknown bereft of assistance, support, or companionship of any form. The advantage, ask a Scorpio, the advantage to doing this alone? All by yourself? The break comes from being able to brag, when it’s done, that you did it all by yourself with no help from anyone. While not always categorized as a team player, the typical Aries sentiment includes being able to work alongside others. However, this full moon and the pressure from the odds bits all in Aquarius? Go alone. Do it alone. Do it without any assistance. Won’t be lonely for long, but it feels like that in the moment.
Taurus
A Taurus buddy showed up. “What happened,” I asked. “She pissed me off.” He couldn’t articulate whatever happened, but whatever it was, it seemed pretty major to him. In about three weeks, after he gets over his Taurus butt getting hurt over nothing? I suspect they will be back together. My buddy is fairly enlightened; he knows how to say “I’m sorry” when he knows it can smooth over the situation. Besides, this is one of those couples, they like to bicker. Not my thing, but then, I don’t do aggravation particularly well. Usually, a Taurus doesn’t either, but this is a unique set of dynamics. Everything is pushing and pulling, exerting force, pulling away, confronting, being sly, sneaky-like, and then? You get hit with another. Not fun, really, and that’s why I was amused. As long there’s a fixed full moon that squares your good Taurus self, there’s tension on the air. That tension is just more put out by the consortium of planets in Aquarius, all destined to just sort of piss you off. Like my buddy, though, eventually you figure out that some of this could be your own fault.
Gemini
The traditional interpretation is that all of that Aquarius action is good for Gemini. You would think, no? Actually, it kind of is, but there’s a warning, too, as the full moon, the lead-up then the fall-out? Creates some expectations in Gemini-land that might be a little unrealistic. I can’t suggest that I live in place that isn’t just a little unrealistic, too, so there is that. I’m not baseline normal in way, shape or form, so I can’t be a judge of this, but as a warning? That weird Aquarius energy that fills you with hope, a sense of destiny, as if the fates and furies aligned? Don’t get too hopeful. I mean, there’s ways hope, but expecting it work right, the first time, or for the first try to be completed on time? Again, was that ever realistic?
Cancer
The problem with a largely plant-based diet, like I’ve followed for a while? Every so often, I’ll indulge in some beef. Dead cow. Red meat. Just a hamburger, BBQ, or even a steak at home. Maybe not a great idea, but a little bit of the meat sure goes a long way in making me feel better, but there is a price. Because I’m largely “plant-based” these days? That little bit of meat, I had a hamburger at a burger joint the other afternoon, and I had the longest nap afterwards. Wake up unconnected, not sure if it was day or night, almost didn’t know where I was. One of my early books was named for a Tuesday BBQ special, Two-Meat Tuesday, so I’m not some animal-loving vegan, no, that’s not it. But age, dietary restrictions, and such? That burger had an impact. I did something that was out of my ordinary course of action. I liked it. Reminded me to stick to what I like as well, but there has to be some kind of “give,” maybe some “wiggle room” in here. For the sign of the crab, the Cancer Moon Children? Go ahead, have a burger — or whatever it is that isn’t exactly off-limits, but is right up there at the edge.
The Leo
With Mars making a pass at Pluto, then moving on, and Venus and Mercury playing tag, too, plus the full moon in your own sign, The Majestic Leo? All adds up to a series of discomfiting1 events. To start with, I’m on your side, although Aquarius energy can take care of itself, but also: there has to be a way to deal with this. Gentle Leo suggestions? While Aquarius is a fixed sign, it’s also an air sign. There is less permanence to some of the perceived obstacles at the moment, the forces that seem to to oppose you? Less of an obstacle, and more about course correction, adjustments, minor tweaks to the way The Leo Engine is running, and, well, in the old days, we’d adjust the carburetor. Simple enough. New jets, larger, smaller, different throttle cables, air/gasoline mixture, just make an adjustment that would fix everything, or, make it run smoother. Adjustments, not big steps, just little adjustments, “Here, just tighten this one down about half a turn, see if that helps.”
Virgo
The very Aquarius energy derived from the placement of the planets? There’s an urge to set yourself free from certain constraints. At least some of you want to break all the rules, and yes, that is appealing, in a certain way. Not that I am very good voice of reason, and I often suggested, that if I am the voice of sanity, one might to reconsider the options. But in this setting, for the foreseeable future, or the next ten days? The idea of breaking all the rules, or even breaking a few of the rules, or, like I’ve seen before, just not showing up for work, or an appointment? Anything like that, flying int he face of convention, “Just because?” “Just because” is not viable answer. I get it. I’ve been known to bend rules and regulations, but for those very Virgo versions of yourself? It’s a great idea, but doing so, Full Moon and all? Not a great idea. Maybe take notes for changes to implement at a much later date.
Libra
“It’s either A, B, or C. Maybe D?” (Libra) “Or maybe there’s 1, 2. 3, 4, could be a 5th?” (Libra). There is a multitude of ways to answer this week’s full moon, then pressure, pleasure coming in from Aquarius, and there’s a single challenging point, has to do with picking one of many different choices. Good news: pick one. Bad news? No matter what you pick, it will feel wrong at some point after that choice, “See? I told it was the wrong choice!” With the available data you had, it was the best choice at the time, and that’s all that matters. Pick one. Wrong, right, less than wonderful? Doesn’t matter just choose. We can always go back later and say, “The Full Moon made me do it.” (I can say that because I am an astrologer, I’m not sure you want to use that excuse, although, it is valid.) So? Pick one.
Scorpio
Somebody promised it was going to be good, and it’s not. Stop fighting it. The Scorpio challenge is one that requires a different way of seeing what pieces are where. Look at what’s in the immediate Scorpio grasp, and consider just working with that. Stop fighting it. The struggle comes from trying to impose a Scorpio will over a situation that will frankly avoid your tenacious, well-meaning suggestions. There are forces at work that seem to be beyond your ken. The trick, for the moment, for the next ten days, maybe longer? Easiest way to win this one? Scorpio — stop fighting it.
Sagittarius
Been about a minute since I last dressed up for work. I used to have pressed white shirts, 100% cotton, tightly woven, somewhat tailored, along with an array of sport coats, formal jeans, bolo ties, and boots. Used to dress up for work. I’m more aligned with what is most comfortable for me, now, as I will be seated at a table, or standing, but I need to be able to move, breathe, and adjust for the various temperatures. I would like to look nice, but then, I am older, and more concerned with what is comfortable for me. After all, that’s what the client really wants, me at maximum comfort so my attention can solely focused on the client, right? That isn’t always the situation, but it does highlight this week’s energies for our Sagittarius selves. I have some “nice clothes,” and I do, as the situations demand, wear those clothes. But for work? Comfort is most important to me. What is easiest, simplest, and there’s muted sense of style, but the material that comes first is personal comfort. Think about that as you get dressed.
Capricorn
For many years, and my own appearance demonstrates this, but for many years? I had one “dirty clothes” basket. Laundry basket. What I would use to carry my dirty laundry to the laundromat in the trailer park. It was really weird when, Austin-forward, they moved to a No quarter cash machine. Laundry got more expensive then. But I was used to a single basket, colors, flavors, socks, shirts, shorts, jeans, and bedding, all in one. Made sense, worked, as I tended to sort of sort the dirty laundry into separate machines, but to be expedient, I waited until I was standing at a row of washing machines. Easier that way, for me. One trip across the parking lot with an overflowing basket of badness. Return trip with a basket of goodness — that smell of sheets and shorts, fresh out of the dryer, sort of folded. It’s about making this as simple as possible for the Capricorn corner of the sky. The Capricorn elements are looking for the simplest approach. Easiest. Simplest. One laundry basket and sort at the laundromat? Just an example from history, as one way that works.
